What a Great Idea
Is the air a little dryer in the winter in your part of the country? Are your hands feeling rough and cracked? Are you using a lot more hand lotion nowadays? What's on that lotion bottle's label? See any big long words that sound like chemicals? Then stop using it! Whatever you put on your skin goes right on in to your bloodstream, so make sure it's healthy enough to EAT. To soften dry skin, rub hands with a few drops of Organic Olive Oil or Coconut Oil. Even the inside of a banana peel can feel soothing on dry skin. Or the next time you're eating an avocado, save a little spoonful to massage into your hands. Also makes a great rejuvenating facial mask!

Fun In The Kitchen
Have you ever seen movies where people are happily making great food? What do you hear in the background? Music! It may just be the movie score making the scene look exciting, but doesn't it make you feel good and wish you were there having fun with them? What if you played your own music score while you were making food? Hmmm? If you are making a romantic dinner for two, play some Smooth Jazz to put you in the mood. If you are assembling something deliciously Italian, play some Italian Opera. And if you want to feel like a prize-winning chef creating a gourmet masterpiece, play some grand Classical music! Go ahead, give yourself permission to play in your kitchen, the good vibes you feel will infuse your food with even more flavor!

This Recipe Rawks
Just found out about a Holiday Party and need a quickie dessert to bring? Need something healthy for the kids to keep them off the Holiday Sugar Wagon? Or do you just want a simple sweet treat just for you after a hard day's work (ahem...shopping adventure)? Here you go, then! No-bake Healthy Holiday Cookies you can literally whip up in a flash! Goes great with or without a fresh glass of nutmilk!

5 Minute No-Bake Healthy Holiday Cookies
2 cups almonds
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract (organic, non-alcohol)
2 Tablespoons Honey
1/8 Teaspoon each Cinnamon and Nutmeg (optional)
Dash fine sea salt (optional, just to bring out the flavor)

Grind almonds in food processor until almost flour consistency. Then add remaining ingredients and mix well. Form into cookies. Done! Tastes great even without the cinnamon and nutmeg. Try a few drops of pure Orange Essential Oil for another flavor. Can also be used as a sweet crumble over chopped apples, pears, peaches, raspberries or bananas.

Are you aware of which foods are in season at different times of the year? I never paid attention to this in the past because grocery stores seemed to have everything all year long. But now that I rarely go to a grocery store and shop at farmer's markets instead, I am more aware of which foods are in season when. Take fruit, for example: Summer, of course, is melon season. Fall it's all about the apples. Winter and Spring brings in the citrus harvest – oranges, tangerines, and grapefruits. It's best to eat foods when they are abundantly in season, not only for freshness' sake, but also for your wallet's sake!
