Here's your fun-filled, short and easy to read ezine full of raw food fun! Compliments of Raw Food Weight Loss Guide!
WHAT A GREAT IDEA!
Do you have a high speed blender? If yours is as noisy as ours is, go to a hardware store and invest in some of those ear protection earmuffs. Saves your ears and makes the other people in your household laugh at how funny you look in the kitchen with earmuffs on! If you don’t have a high speed blender, you can see which kind we have on our Raw Food Equipment page.
FUN IN THE KITCHEN!
Some raw foods you can make up ahead of time and freeze. Flax crackers, dehydrated veggie burgers, even the Snowballs recipe on my Raw Food Desserts page. I also like to keep on hand frozen peas and frozen corn and frozen fruit, like frozen fresh strawberries (not the kind in the box with the sugar sauce!). Just run a little water over them to thaw them, and you can use them in recipes. In my next newsletter, I’ll tell you how to make a raw ice cream using frozen bananas!
THIS RECIPE RAWKS!
Do you miss Caesar Dressing? You don’t have to anymore! This recipe is all raw and absolutely delicious! So go ahead and make a Caesar Salad – just use sunflower seeds or sliced almonds instead of croutons, and nutritional yeast instead of parmesan cheese. Yum!
½ Cup Water
¼ Cup Lemon Juice
¼ Cup Olive Oil
¼ Cup Nama Shoyu
2 T White Miso
2 T Dulse Flakes
4 Celery Stallks
3 Garlic Cloves
Ground Pepper to Taste
Blend in a high speed blender. Enough for multiple salads. Stays good in the fridge for about a week.
Did you know that peas are a great source of nutrition? They contain 26% of calories from protein, are low fat, and have high fiber, which helps keep blood sugar levels from rising too fast after a meal. Sweet peas are really yummy, they taste better raw than they do cooked, in my opinion! Try them on your salads or add them to soups. Even blend them up and add spices to them to make veggie dips and pates.
