Welcome To Making Raw Fun!
Here's your short and easy to read ezine full of raw food fun! Compliments of Raw Food Weight Loss Guide!

What A Great Idea
Turmeric is one of those top 10 power herbs that you will want to sneak into every recipe possible to bring your health to peak levels and prevent disease. Do some research on it and you will be amazed at what it is capable of. What’s so great about this little orange gem is that it has very little flavor. So it can sneak into salad dressings just as easily as sauces, veggie burgers or crackers. I even add powdered turmeric into my sweet smoothies in the morning and can’t even taste it. I just know I’m doing a tremendous favor for my body by adding it in as often as possible.

Fun In The Kitchen
Got more to do than you can fit in a day? Yeah, I know! So let’s multitask. You don’t want to short change your food prep time, but perhaps you can add some other life routine elements in and get both done at once. If your email inbox is full of little videos, consider watching them while making food. Or put your phone on speaker and get a phone call or two out of the way while fixing veggies. Or do your Yoga and stretching routine while making food. Lean against the counter while cutting food and stretch out your calves. Or hold onto the counter and lean down and touch your toes in between trips to the fridge. Or stand back, bend at the waist, and flatten your back into a tabletop pose while holding onto the countertop to stretch your arms and back. Or simply focus on your posture keeping your head aligned over your shoulders and your tummy muscles in tight and your knees slightly bent. Add in an OM here and there for good measure!

Here’s a yummy, sunshiny yellow refreshing treat for summer! Mango Gelato! It’s so simple to make that it’s hard to even call it a recipe! I call it a gelato because it’s more like a sherbet than an ice cream. So healthy and sweet, you’ll want to stock up on mangoes when they are on sale and always keep a bunch of chopped up mangoes in the freezer for when the craving hits!

2 cups frozen mango slices

½ to 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice, if needed, for extra sweetness

1 Tablespoon coconut oil

Wash, peel and cut the mango fruit off the large inner seed. Then freeze the peeled fruit slices until ready to use. When ready to make gelato, put all ingredients in the food processor and process until thick and smooth. You can also make it more tropical by adding a little pineapple or papaya.

Didja Know?
Didja know that seaweed is a good food to have in a raw food diet? Didja even know it was a food? Actually, it is such a highly nutritional food that many health experts even call it a Superfood. Seaweed contains a wonderful amount of bioavailable iodine, a mineral that supports the thyroid gland and many other organs in the body. It is also high in calcium, essential amino acids and helps purify and alkalize the body. There are many different kinds of edible seaweed, the most notable being nori, the wraps often used around sushi. But other good seaweeds are kelp, dulse, wakami and arame. Delicious recipes using seaweed can often be found in raw food recipe books. My favorite seaweed is kelp in the form of noodles, which are clear and completely tasteless and work great for Asian noodle dishes or even as spaghetti.
