Welcome To Making Raw Fun!
Here's your short and easy to read ezine full of raw food fun! Compliments of Raw Food Weight Loss Guide!

What A Great Idea
Having really good sharp knives is vitally important when you are a raw foodist that is committed to substantial daily food prep. Over 20 years ago, I chose to invest in some really good Cutco knives, and I’m so glad I did. Not only have they held up great this whole time, and still cut like a charm with heavy duty daily use by two big-time raw foodists, but they also have a lifetime guarantee, so I know if I ever need to fix one for any possible reason, I can just send it in and get it back in perfect shape. These knives are the most important kitchen equipment I own!

Fun In The Kitchen
It turns out that the kitchen is one of the best places to indulge your sweetheart’s Love Language! From reading the book, The Five Love Languages, by Gary D. Chapman, I discovered that my top love language is “Words of Affirmation.” So when my husband tastes my spaghetti sauce and tells me how delicious it is, I feel loved! His love language is “Acts of Service.” So when I do his dishes for him now and then when he has to run out the door to get somewhere, he’ll come home to a clean counter and feel loved. If your sweetie’s love language is "Receiving Gifts," you can surprise him or her and make something yummy, like a decadent raw food dessert. If their love language is "Quality Time," you can work together on a recipe side by side and laugh and have a great time being chefs together in the kitchen. And if their love language is "Physical Touch," you can run a gentle hand across their shoulders every time you go around them to get something out of the cupboard or fridge. What’s not to love about giving or receiving any of those sweet gestures!

Summer! Beaches! Palm Trees! A little pink Umbrella in your drink! And here’s a yummy one to put it in. The Tropikale Smoothie. So cool and sweet and delicious, if it wasn’t so darn green, you would never know it had the power superfood kale in it!

TROPIKALE SMOOTHIE

2 cups frozen mango slices

2-3 nice big kale leaves, de-stemmed

1 cup coconut water

Wash, peel and cut approximately 2 mangos and freeze the fruit until ready to use. When ready to make your smoothie, put all ingredients in the blender and blend until thick and smooth. You can also make it even healthier by adding a few tablespoons of chia or hemp seeds.

Didja Know?
Didja know that most raw foodists tend to eat a little too much fat in their otherwise super healthy diet? Granted, this diet is a far cry from the horrendously unhealthy SAD Standard American Diet, but too much fat makes your blood cells clump together so your blood doesn’t flow as smoothly in your veins. It coats your cells so important nutrients cannot get through the receptor sites on them to nourish you. And it can slow down your rate of weight loss when you are trying to slim down. So if you are aiming to lose weight the healthy way through a raw food diet, aim for roughly 10% of your calories to come from fats. What does this equate to? Less than a half of an avocado a day, or a small handful of nuts, or just a tablespoon or two of a good quality oil. That’s in a whole day, not per meal! Yes, healthy fats are good for you, but just keep it to an intelligent amount.
