WHAT A GREAT IDEA!
In a toxic free raw food home, we aim to remove as much packaged, boxed, canned, standard, chemicalized, pasteurized, pesticized, processed, health-harming substances as possible from our lives. Which includes storing anything in plastic. So we enjoy using glass canisters and mason jars to store our nuts, seeds, herbs, etc. We label them simply with masking tape and a sharpie, which holds up well when washed. We even take our to-go water, smoothies or herb beverages in mason jars with tight sealing lids, as we do not choose to drink water from plastic bottles. You can even write the word Love right on your glass jars to add extra sweet energy to whatever is in them!

In our last newsletter, we introduced you to Kelp Noodles. Did you try them, yet? They are so versatile, they really Make Raw Fun! So if you liked them, I bet you’ll like Nori sheets, too! Those are the thin black seaweed wrappers you typically see around Sushi rolls, which made without fish become the raw food favorite, Nori Rolls. But guess what else you can do with them? You can use them as wraps to make sandwiches or cut them into ribbons and add them into salads or Asian dishes. But the most fun food I have made with Nori sheets are my famous Noritos! That’s right, sounds like Doritos, but these similar tasting cheesy crisp snacks have the incredible health benefits of seaweed built right in! Interested? Try my recipe below!
THIS RECIPE RAWKS!
You’re going to love this special treat! For some people, it’s hard to let go of some of those old favorite snacks we used to eat, but if you can find a raw replacement
for them that you like to eat just as much, it’s easier to stick with this healthy lifestyle. So Voila: here is my secret personal recipe for Noritos! Watch out, though, they are soooooo good you might wish you made a triple batch!
4 to 5 Raw Nori Sheets, set aside
2 cups cashews
1 red pepper
1/2 cup nutritional yeast
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
2 big garlic cloves
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
Simply blend all ingredients except for the Nori sheets. Spread this delicious nacho cheese mixture about 1/8 inch thick onto the Nori sheets and dehydrate at 115 degrees for 12 to 24 hours, or until dry and crisp. Cut into triangles to make fabulous Noritos chips!

minerals than even your powerhouse leafy greens, such as Kale and Spinach! Kelp, in particular, is also high in iodine content, which is an essential nutrient for the health of your thyroid, one of the most important glands in the body for regulating your metabolism. Other great seaweed choices to explore are Dulse, Bladderwrack, Wakame, Nori, and Arame.
