Taking Control Of My Own Health


My raw food diet testimonials begins in the year 2000, when I was in between jobs, had no health insurance and was looking for a way to take control of the health of my own body. I began to go to health food stores, read books and magazines on healthy eating and went to health lectures.


I started shifting my diet by eating less red meat and more vegetables and salads. After about a year, I naturally just let go of eating chicken, because I no longer felt drawn to it, and then about nine months later I just stopped eating fish.

In the fall of 2002, I attended a lecture at the health food store about the “raw food diet.” I was amazed by what I learned! I was told, during a weekend workshop, about the incredible health benefits of eating simply fruits, vegetable, nuts, seeds, sprouts and seaweeds.


It appears that the human body is not designed to handle the level of toxins that processed and restaurant foods have in them. As a result of eating the toxic chemicals in these foods, there is an increase in white blood cells in the body to take care of the unrecognizable stuff that has just entered the body.

After this workshop, I realized that eating raw foods was indeed a way to keep my body very healthy. Since that workshop, I have been eating 100% raw food about 90% of the time. This is the balance that I have found to work for me.

Raw food is not a religion; it is not an all-or-nothing way to eat. It is, however, a way to stay young, healthy, vibrant and alive, and that was what I was looking for when I began this quest. As an added bonus, people constantly comment to me about the clarity of my eyes and skin. What they are really saying is “You look amazingly healthy.” When I tell them my age, they are always surprised and usually guess that I am 10 years younger.
