Raw food herbs and spices provide the real magic to making delicious raw food recipes in your raw food kitchen. These are the elements we sprinkle on like fairy dust that make raw food truly come alive with flavor!

Now granted, fresh organic fruits and vegetables can be bursting with delicious flavor all by themselves - that's one of the joys of the raw food diet! But as you combine foods and add perhaps a splash of lemon juice, a clove of garlic, and just the right raw food herbs and spices, you can create masterpieces of culinary pleasure!

I don't know about you, but as I've spent more and more time as a raw foodist, I seem to have discovered some kind of knack for sprinkling on just the right type of herb or spice, in just the right amount, without even measuring! I can taste the food as I'm preparing it and know just what kind of element it is missing and add that one extra touch that gives food an extra depth, or tanginess, or saltiness, or perfect herb combination. It is so fun to be creative in a raw food kitchen!

In the list below, I have put together what I consider the top must-have single herbs and spices - these are the ones I seem to use again and again for most raw food recipes.

I have also included an additional list of some of my favorite premade herb and spice mixtures, so you can grab just one bottle of Mexican Seasoning, for example, every time you want to make a Mexican flavored dish.

Just how good does it feel to be raw? FABULOUS! I remember when I wasn't eating raw food, I was overweight, unhappy with how I looked, full of pain all over my body, more prone to sickness and could get moody. Now, being 100% raw, I have lost weight, regained my self-love and self-respect, released the pain and feel this vibrant energy throughout my being, as well as a constant sense of peace, joy and love!
